Female Hair Loss - Treatment

Q: I have a couple of questions. Well, first of all my hair is always falling out, especially in the shower. Is this normal? I'm talking a lot of hair will fall out. Second, is there anything I could do or eat to make my hair grow longer? It seems as if my hair just doesn't grow like it used to when I was younger.

A:  It is normal to lose about 100 strands a day, but a sudden increase usually means something in your life is changing. It may simply be your estrogen levels or even the seasons (humans tend to molt in spring and fall, just as other mammals do). Major stresses - a move, a divorce, a serious illness, or injury, pregnancy, birth control pills, even a crash diet - can also induce follicles to go into a resting phase, leading to heavy shedding. (You may not realize hair loss is stress-related because it occurs three to six months after the traumatic event.)

If skimpiness continues for more than a few months - and your hairline recedes, your part widens, or your scalp starts to peek through, chances are you may be experiencing male pattern baldness. This inherited condition causes visible thinning in half of all women over age 50.

Reduce Hair Loss

Noevir has two Inner Care Nutritionals to help with skin and hair and nails: Inner Care Foundation which contains essential multi-vitamins, multiminerals, and antioxidants derived from fruits and vegetables to help supply the body with daily nutritional needs.

Inner Care Radiance which directly addresses the health of the skin. Contains ingredients that have been shown to promote the body's natural ability to eliminate toxins; help strengthen the body's resistance and defense system; and may help prevent blemishes, acne, age spots and uneven skin tone.

Tokara Sea Mineral Shampoo is formulated to use daily to help restore your hair's proper moisture balance. Gently cleanses hair, without stripping the scalp of essential moisture. This mild and soothing formula contains super-refined sea minerals and marine extracts from the Tokara Sea* to help maintain a healthy moisture balance and improve manageability. Now with Chitosan PCA to promote optimal level of hydration and Screwpine Fruit Extract, combined with rich sea minerals, increase moisture retention. And Algae Extracts help fight free radicals and protect against environmental damage, while working synergistically with sea minerals to moisturize hair and scalp.

Invigorating Revitalizing Herbal Hair Tonic works to keep your scalp clean and healthy of dead skin and cells. Stimulates the scalp and helps with dandruff and thinning hair. Massage into scalp daily to help promote blood circulation and increase your hair's softness, manageability, volume and shine.

*Considered the world's purest ocean, the beautiful waters around the Tokara Islands are abundant in minerals deposited by the Japan Current. These remote, southern islands lie between the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea. The Tokara Islands are an unspoiled paradise forgotten by time, a place where man and nature live together harmoniously. A variety of fish and coral reef can also be found in this area.
