Q: Now that it's fall, I am breaking out
with pimples but all summer
long my face has looked great, what is going on?
A: Sometimes life can be so unfair. All summer
long, you looked and felt healthy and great. But now that it's fall, things are
starting to go wrong. Your bronze glow is fading fast. And your skin, which was
virtually acne-free all summer, has now decided to break out with a vengeance.
Why?
Sun, in small doses, can improve acne
conditions... temporarily. When exposed to sunlight, skin tends to swell and
exfoliate and redness will reduce. In fall, however, acne flares up as the skin
begins to shed dry and dead cells caused by this sun exposure. Fall acne
flare-ups are also greatly influenced by mood swings, low spirits and stress.
Acne is inherited. If your parents had it or have
it now, then chances are high that you are more likely to have acne, too.
Hormones play a key role as far as acne. Hormones
cause an increase in oil production - in your hair, skin, just about everywhere.
And where does this extra oil settle? In your pores, of course.
Since the pores are clogged with all that oil,
bacteria and dead skin cells, they are unable to breathe. And clogged pores can
only mean one thing - acne alert. Don't forget that mineral oil can clog the
pores as well!
Zapping Acne with Noevir and Hints:
-
Keep your hands away from your face. There is oil
and bacteria on your hands. Do you really want to add any more to your face?
-
Wash your face with Noevir and rinse thoroughly by
splashing the face gently with lukewarm water 20 times, blot off with a clean,
damp washcloth.
-
Noevir's Clean Wash with salicylic acid is a
gentle exfoliator that unclogs pores and follicles. Exfoliation can prevent
pimples, speeding up the skin's shedding.
-
Iodine is one of the few "foods" associated with
breakouts. Avoid iodized salt, shellfish and seaweed.
-
Jawline acne can be caused, or exacerbated, by
pressing a telephone receiver against your face.
-
Gentle cleansing is mandatory for acne-prone skin,
which is more sensitive than normal skin.
-
Picking pimples can lead to scarring.
-
Vigorous cleansing is the worst way to deal with
acne-prone skin. All it does is irritate and lead to rebound oiliness.
-
Wash your hair. And keep it and your hands off
your face.
-
Seventy-five to 85 percent of teens suffer
breakouts vs. 30 to 40 percent of adults.

react by producing even more sebum!! So it is important to lightly moisturize.
Choose from a moisture lotion such as
99 Replenishing Moisturizer.
When breakout is under control, gradually switch
to one of Noevir's complete skincare lines.
